He said that he showed Nobody how to be responsible by picking up garbage in an area of town that was messy. He put an evergy efficient light bulb around his nexk to symbolize his initiatives.

Nobody Learns to Show Caring and Responsibility to Students in our School

The student on the left showed caring and responsibility when we helped out the DL class at our school. She helped to wash Breakfast Club dishes, fill the water cooler and she helped the music teacher with a music class. She placed a plastic pop bottle and a bubble wand (used in music class) on Nobody as an attachment to remind it how it can care for others too.

Nobody Works Hard to Help the Local Environment

IMG_6617_edited-1

As part of this child's Nobody presentation, she brought in a letter from the mayor of Saugeen Shores that thanked her and her family for helping to Pitch-In and clean-up the environment. She was among many people in the area who went to different areas in Port Elgin, cleaning up garbage to keep our environment clean. As an attachment, she added a clean, yellow plastic garbage bag that was given to the helpers to be used that day. Well done!

Nobody Helps the Local Environment

This student did a fantastic job of showing Nobody how to respect and care for the environemnt. He also showed the class how to be responsible for the litter that we may not think twice about when it blows away or is dropped outside. He did this by planning and taking the whole class to the local grocery store to help clean up the parking lot area. If you haven't seen our pictures yet, look them up under the photos sections.

Nobody Helps Haiti

An orange tennis ball was added to Nobody this week to stand for the caring and compassion that it was taught. The tennis ball symbolizes a Sports and Media Swap that one student and his family had to raise money for Haiti Relief. He was so proud when he announced that he raised $100.38! Well done!

Nobody is Taught How To Care For The Environment

This very proud student taugh Nobody how to care for the environment. He and his family spent time on the Saugeen Rail Trail picking up garbage that people had thrown on the trail. After picking up the garbage, he sorted the recyclables from the garbage. He placed a Tim Horton's cup on Nobody as he said that the majority of the garbage was Tim's Horton's cups.

Nobody Creates Awareness To Help People and Animals

This week Nobody learned how to educate people about fire safety. After visiting a fire station with this student, they presented to use some fire safety tips that they learned. One of the tips that was discussed was having a planned fire route. Many students put wp their hands when we asked who had one. Others were still unsure. It would be a great time to sit down with your family and go over what to do in case there is a fire in your house. A fire hat was placed on Nobody as an attachment.

Nobody Helps the Environment

This student taught Nobody how to respect and care for the environment. She did this by helping her father recycle cars at his wrecking yard. She told us how they emptied out the oil and gas from each vehicle so that the soil would not become contaminated and talked all about how the different car parts are reused or recycled ... even the tires. She toldus that even the rubber that we walked on with our skates this winter at the Plex was made of recycled tires.

Nobody Hits the Neighbourhood To Learn How To Care

This caring student did a fantastic job of showing Nobody not only how to care, but also how to be a hard worker! After making up little pamphlets to distribute about his project, he and his dad headed door to door around their neighbourhood, collecting non-perishable food for the food bank. "It made me feel happy to do this," he said during his presentation.

Nobody Learns How To Be Responsible For the Environment

The student on the left

The student on the left decided to help the environment because she "wants the earth to be healthy." She told us, "To help the earth we need to conserve energy so for Earth Hour we turned off the lights." She gave us some examples of how we can all help keep the earth healthy. She has also planted a White Spruce tree and added a shovel to Nobody to symbolize planting trees to help the environment.

Nobody Learns How To Be Responsible

This young lady watered friends flowers while they were away on vacation. "I taught Nobody that it's important to help other people out. By showing it that I followed through with what I said I'd do, is teaching it responsibility."

Nobody Learns More About Caring

This student chose to pick the character atribute of caring to teach Nobody. Her cousin is in Afghanistan with the Canadian Troops, so she wrote a letter to him and created awareness by giving us all yellow ribbons to wear on our shirt. Nobody also was given a yellow ribbon for an attachement.

Nobody Heads to the Animal Shelters to Show Love and Compassion

The student in black chose to show Nobody how to care for animals. He visited both animal shelters in Owen Sound and helped by feeding, walking and showing love to the animals there. What an incredible way to show Nobody the act of giving time to love and care for others who don't have a home.

Nobody Is Shown Love and Caring

As the student on the left had Nobody over Valentine's Day, he decided to use this to his advantage. After asking the class for help to make 90 valentine's for the residents of Elgin Lodge, the class had a short trip to the lodge to hand deliver them. The last line of this prestentation sums up what this Nobody Project is supposed to be about ... "I learned that it makes me feel good to show love and caring to others."

Nobody Is Shown How to Care For Animals

Nobody was shown more character traits this past week as he was taught all about endangered animals. This student centred his research on the Black Rat Snake. He gave his own presentation today and has chosen to create awareness, so he has invited a speaker who came to speak to us on the Red Fox and safety around wild animals.

Nobody Learns How to Help Animals-At-Risk and the Environment

This week Nobody learned how to be selfless. Using her Christmas money, this student donated $50 to help an organization called The NCC (Nature Conservancy of Canada). Our presentor told us that this organization helps to purchase ecological sensitive lands to help protect species that call that land home. One of these pieces of land is a long Geogian Bay, where the family likes to vacation.

Nobody Learns to Help People and The Environment

Nobody helped one of the students in our class make a trip to the Salvation Army with a load of things to be sold. At the Salvation Army they helped to price and then display the items at the store, while learning about how the Salvation Army operates internationally and locally.

For our “Who is Nobody? Experiences”, each child in the class will have one week to take Nobody home. During this time he/she can take Nobody with him/her everywhere, just please don’t loose him! During this week your child should be working on his/her “Who is Nobody? Experience.” This doesn’t mean that he/she can’t start now. At the end of their week your child will present to the class their Nobody Expereince. Be sure to use your video camera to record some of the experience (i.e. part of the bake sale), use your camera to take pictures and keep all of the letters, or be creative.  Your child will be able to use these for his/her presentation and scrapbook page that they will make at the end of the year.
